Staff – Erasmus Studio
Stefania Scagliola is a military historian and holds a PhD in Contemporary History from the Erasmus University Rotterdam. Her dissertation: ‘Burden of War, Coming to term with Dutch War Crimes in Indonesia’ was published in 2002 and shortlisted for the ICODO Award. For an earlier study she received the Jan Romein Award. She has been the coordinator of an Oral History project at the Netherlands Institute for Veterans (2007-2011) which involved collecting and processing 1000 life-history interviews from among a representative sample of Dutch war and military mission veterans Through this ‘digital born’ initiative she was involved in various academic ICT-projects which aim at developing adequate tools and data standards for researchers who work with qualitative data. Her work has been published In ‘The European Review of History’, ‘De Nieuwste Tijd’, and ‘Icodo-info; tijdschrift over gevolgen van oorlog en geweld’. For the EUR faculty of Arts she is developing courseware on the use of audiovisual sources for scholarly research.
Staff – Center for Investigative Reporting (CIN)
Leila Bičakčić became the director of the CIN in 2006, and was the founding employee of this organisation, as its business manager. Prior to joining CIN, she has worked for the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), UNICEF, and the American Bar Association’s Central and East European Law Initiative, where she worked for nine years as a finance manager and trainer. A Sarajevo native, she holds a degree in economy from the University of Sarajevo.
Staff – Human Rights Center of the University of Sarajevo (HRC)
Saša Madacki is the Director of the Human Rights Centre of the University of Sarajevo. He graduated from the University of Sarajevo in Comparative Literature and Librarianship. He received further training at Council of Europe, Raoul Wallenberg Institute, UNITAR, University of Stanford (Internet Law Program at Stanford Law School). He is the holder of ECDL and ICDL certificates, and served as Head of Information Research and Library Dept. at the Human Rights Centre, Information Management Advisor to the UNDP Serbia and Montenegro, Librarian at the Soros Media Centre, and Referral Archivist at the Federal Archives of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He lectured in human rights information and documentation at the Danish Institute for Human Rights in Copenhagen, and coordinated library instruction programme at the Centre for Interdisciplinary postgraduate Studies of the University of Sarajevo and Course Leader for the Science, Technology and Human Rights module at the Human Rights School for Future Decision Makers in Dubrovnik (Balkan Human Rights Network). He served as the President of the Board of Directors at the Association for Advancement of Information Sciences (Infohouse). He was also the editor of the Annual Report on Human Rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina 2008 published by the Human Rights Centre of the University of Sarajevo.
