DANS (Data Archiving and Networked Services) is an institute of Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) and the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO). Since its establishment in 2005, DANS has been responsible of storing research data in the humanities and social sciences, and making them permanently accessible to researchers. To this end DANS has developed services and policies for long-term digital archiving. DANS works closely with managers and constantly stimulates researchers to deposit their data and make them freely available for reuse by other researchers. DANS has offered its services to provide long-term conservation of the data and access to the collection to researchers. This means that the collection will meet the internationally recognized Data-Seal-Of-Approval Standards.
